Yesterday—the House approved the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act (S. 3307). This will provide $4.5 billion in new funding over the next 10 years to improve children’s access to healthy meals. This is the largest investment in federal child nutrition programs since their inception. This legislation will help close the hunger gap on weekends, afterschool, and during the summer. The bill will now head to the President’s desk, where he is expected to sign it into law! This is amazing!
